Telic Engineering received an assignment to represent MTU at the Golden Eagle platform owned and operated by CNOOC, offshore Aberdeen, UK.
The Golden Eagle platform is one of the largest offshore platforms in the North Sea, and is operated by CNOOC, a major Chinese national oil company. The platform produces around 70,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day and has been in operation since 2014.

The assignment involved replacing network switches that are used for controlling the turbine, as well as troubleshooting a gas metering valve driver fault. Additionally, performed a control health check of the Mark VIe control used for the LM2500 G4 plus SAC gas turbine, which is a critical component of the platform’s power generation system.
