Telic Engineering received an assignment to represent Woodward Inc. to support their customer Honeywell for closing outstanding Site Acceptance Test (SAT) items at the Jazan Refinery project in Saudi Arabia. Woodward supplies the Compressor Control System (CCS) as part of the automated systems that Honeywell supplies. During this period visited Hyundai Arabia Co. Ltd, JGC Corporation, and Saipem SPA which are three out of several Engineering, Procurement, Installation and Commissioning (EPC) contractors undertaking the construction and commissioning tasks of this project, and worked on 21 compressor CCS systems.

Jazan Refinery and marine terminal is a mega-project project under the construction and owned by Saudi Aramco. The Refinery will process heavy and medium crude oil to create liquefied petroleum gas, sulfur, asphalt, benzene, and para-xylene. It is expected to produce 400,000 barrels per day.

This project includes the largest gas power plant in the world, i.e. Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle (IGCC) plant .  The plant will use the gasification technology and will be fed mainly with the vacuum distillation residues obtained in the refinery, as well as with high sulfur fuel oil. The plant will also meet the refinery’s electricity needs and a significant amount of energy will be exported to the national grid.
